Kirsten Dunst has always been a favourite of mine. Ever since Jumanji. And who can forget teen favourite, Bring it on, admit it we all know the lyrics-"who am I? Just guess.....", but I shall stop my self singing cheerleading chants with dodgy moves for accompaniment to talk about the leading lady that is Kirsten Dunst. My favourite Dunst film has to be Marie Antoinette, which may just be on my list of all time favourite films. There was something about the stylings of Coppala's film-be it the candy colours and grand decor of Versailles-but there is no doubt that Kirsten's freshness brought a likeable quality to Antoinette. Dunst, a child actress, seems to have been around for a long, long time, its hard to forget that she's still only 29. The prestigous Cannes film festival has recently honoured Dunst with the best actress award, and she certainly was a winner on the Red Carpet during the festival in France.....

Which brings me to wonder, what is your favourite Kirsten Dunst movie and look at Cannes??

It's hard for me to pick a look, she was stunning whether in dreamy, cream gowns or sunshine yellow. I also love the range in beauty looks, I am definitely picking up some tips here!!

I can finally say its over!! Exam season, for me anyway, has ended. Theres been highs and inevitable lows, but I survived. And now I'm free, at least for two weeks before returning to school to start Year 13 and my A2 levels. Its scary to think its my last year of school, and it wont be long before I'm in Uni!! But anyway, the most important thing is now exams are over I can focus on the Natwalk a little more, which is always great news. I just wish I had a better post lined up for you today, but I thought the important thing was that I actually do a post today-to prove the Natwalk is very much still alive!! I am hoping to have a GOOD post up for tomorrow. But a few things before I finish this post...

Having 3 exams on that day it was a little hard to post on the 18th May but it was infact The Natwalk's second birthday !! Happy Birthday to my baby!!

Also another anniversary was of prom, I can't believe how fast time as gone and how much things have changed since that special night.

Sorry for the briefness of this post but as Take That once sang, I am "back for good".

Steps of the met

Firstly, I apologize. This blog is delayed. Monday night was when the stars shone and the annual Met Gala, so it was my greatest intentions to have a post up on Tuesday on the matter. Due to exam prep, school, revision and extra curriculars, its up today instead, I couldn't leave it out though-one of the most fabulous events of the year!!

This year was honoring the late, extraordinarily talented Alexander Mcqueen. So I was hoping to see a little more Mcqueen on the red carpet then there was. I have to admit I was a little underwhelmed by the fashion this year, but needless to say there were certainly some very chic looks on the red carpet. Blake Lively looked the bombshell as always in Chanel (on the arm of Karl Lagerfeld non the less). It's not my favourite look of Blake's but she does look stunning, and the detailing and Grecian draping of the dress is just magical. Another of my favourite looks was Mary-Kate Olsen wearing a long, striking Givenchy gown. I've never really been into the whole bohemian look but this Spring I seem to have acquired quite a taste for it a la Nicole Richie. I just love the contrast of the turquoise detailing around the neck and sleeves, tres bien!! And of course, Sarah Jessica Parker who opted to wear Mcqueen. I'd loved her paying honor to this truly great fashion icon. The dress was not something I'd wear but it suited her frame perfectly, although I would have worn the hair a little differently.

The London challenge

This is such a random post but I just had to share these crazy pictures with you!! You may remember a couple of weeks ago I was in London for the weekend and showed you some great shots in the daytime. During the night me and my friends, on the Friday went to see a chilling ghost story The Lady in Black (which is now being made into a film starring Daniel Radcliffe) and on the Saturday night went to see the amazing, astonishing musical Billy Elliot which I can tell you was an experience!! Both were great, which brings me onto Sunday night. We took part in 'The London challenge' after a ride on the London eye. It basically involved running around London on a scavenger hunt while taking funny photos. I can't bring you them all, unfortunately our team photographer is currently away. But I can show you some funny pics that bring back great memories, and at least try to explain them.....

Kate the great

It's that time the world has being waiting for, for oh so long. Prince William and Kate Middleton's marriage. All eyes, of course are what on Kate Middleton wore. After months of speculation and tight-lipped secrets about the designer-would it be Sarah Burton?? Jasper Conran?? Alice Temperley?? The beautiful bride was revealed yesterday-a gorgeous lace creation that echoed Grace Kelly.

The Mcqueen gown was just stunning. Simple and classic, yet still still striking and bold. It's so romantic, dare I say it, the perfect wedding dress. Apparently Kate did her own make-up for the wedding, and didn't she just look beautiful. And also, her maid of honour, Philippa Middleton looked elegant and stunning. It's risky for a bridesmaid to wear a long white dress but she managed to pull it off and look great without overshadowing Kate.

Style and beauty is clearly something that runs in this family!!

California Dreaming

The words festival chic evoke so many outfits. Whether a nod to the sixties, or wellies and poncho a la Glastonbury, you always know its time to break the daisy dukes out (weather permitting of course), when the music festivals start. Here in the UK, non yet, but in the US?? Yeah, this weekend was the one and only Coachella festival. I think thats enough of an excuse to get my festival on....

Retro vibes were felt, with fashionistas taking in the California sun, with summer-influenced outfits to match. Nicole Richie worked her signature Bohemian look, adding, another signature of hers, sunglasses. Surprisingly another fan of the boho look was Miss Vanessa Hudgens, who has certainly graduated into a rising fashion star since her disney days, take note Miley. But whether it be Alexa, Kate, or Dita one thing was for sure-the heat and crowds are no excuse for not looking fabulous at all times. I just wished I looked this good after a weekend in a tent!!

Gotta get down on Friday

Casual Friday was the operative word today. Making full use of a school break I rolled out of bed (sorry to all of those awaking early) at noon and basically all I have done today is sit in costa thinking about frivolous subjects such as cupcakes and cosmopolitans, and, albeit a not-so frivolous topic of university courses. My top choice, of course, is English Literature and so with a goal is sights its all ahead with the revision. Friday is, as it should be, a day off, so I managed to relax today before filling up over the weekend on the quadratic formula and Durkheim's theories. So, I present to you my outfit today, so long since an outfit post, I'm feeling a very good blogger this week however. As I said before its great to be back!!!!

I'm wearing playsuit, belt and bangle by Topshop, boots by River Island, tights by Primark and necklace by Avon.

I heard this song on the radio and instantly thought it was the vocals of Paloma Faith or the Noisettes. I eagerly listened to hear the talent, and heard a familiar name. You may remember in 2009 when the then 13 year old, Dionne Bromfield broke onto the scene with the help of Amy Winehouse, well 2 years on and this talented young lady has released, Yeah right.

London Calling

I've been AWOL lately, in all honesty I 'unofficialy' closed down the Natwalk for a few months due to the fact that I was simply too busy to post more than once a week. I was flicking through Elle this week, and taking in the culture of London when The Natwalk popped into my head and realised what I had to do. So here I am, despite my AS levels coming up as I realalised this blog is my escapism, a place to express myself and my passions and intrests. I couldn't quite possbily sit here and tell you everything thats happened since I last posted but I can however tell you of how I spent last weekend in a fabulous place in the company of amazing people.

The setting-London of course, The weather-beautiful and sunny, The look-Casual, cool and quirky, The people-my nearest and dearest friends. I have to say what a weekend, I had the best time and some amazing memories.

I can so see myself living down there!! Glad to be back.

All in all I have to admit I was not blown away by BAFTA fashion this year. There were a few wow dresses, but overall I was fairly unimpressed. But every cloud had a silver lining, meaning those that dressed well shone.

Emma Watson wore this floaty, pale pink gown. Not my favourite outfit of Emma's but she did look stunning with a cool edge thanks to her pixie cut.

Can you believe this girl is 14?? Classy, conservative but with sparkle and glitz, a dress that would be more fit for mature lady is made young and fun with the detail.

Glossy black locks, velour and a blue satin bow all compliment Gemma Arteton fabulously. Check out the rogue lips!! One to try.

Tallulah Riley wore this elegant, old hollywood style dress. I love her hair, a definite reference if I need a night out look.

This man just may be the most stylish man in the world. I can see into the future and we are going to be very good friends. Exceptionally Mr Tom Ford dresses me.

I was very happy the King's Speech picked up alot of gongs on the night, it was a terrific film, and I was also happy to see The Social Network being recognised. I found it a really interesting insight into something that, like it or not, now dominates alot of our lives. I haven't seen black swan yet either but as you all know I do love Natalie Portman, and I'm so happy she won Best actress.

It's the biggie in a few weeks-the oscars!! Do you think the Oscars will echo the BAFTA winners??

Awards season!! It's that time of year again when the red carpets out and the designer gowns are on. The highlight is as always the Oscars, that little man has a big impact. Stars turned out for the Oscar lunch, and despite not being the event the fashion was non the less on the dot.

My style icon Natalie Portman looks stunning in this effortless blue dress, I love the contrast with the red hue shoes too. Also Michelle Williams look ever so stylish in a classic black blouse and tweed skirt.

Jennifer Lawrence was definitely my second fave of the night, she looked so pretty in this classic, feminine style accessorised perfectly. Nicole Kidman went for a more conservative look, but she still looked amazing, love the colour!!

And not forgetting Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfield, who shows how to do black without looking boring at a young age. This classic fit suits her frame perfectly, and I'm honestly in two minds jewellery-wise. A little more jewellery would have looked nice but I'm in awe of the simplicity and minimalism of the outfit.

Every so often I try and offer you snippets of my life, and this is pretty much it at the moment........

Despite the load of coursework, I'm in the midst of my AS level mocks aswell.

However, I have started a new novel for English Literature, Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks. I've only read about 200 pages so far but I urge you to read it. It is a moving, profound book that is genuinely hard to put down. A little grim at times, but full of passion and emotion. At least there is one aspect of exams I'm enjoying at the moment!!

Madonna with the previously mentioned Italian fashion house, Kate Moss and Longchamp, and speaking of Italian fashion houses and Kate Moss brings me to my point.

I saw this picture and I HAD to post. Smart, sleek and chic only begin to describe the stylings of the British model and Gucci creative director Freida Gianni. If you haven't noticed I'm rallying for a collaboration. Take note Gucci.

This time of year is always a good one for me, despite 'January blues' and the freezing temperatures (thankyou for braking on me right now heating!!). Of course the sales keep me happy but the 14th brings me another year to add to my age. So last week was my 17th birthday and I celebrated with my close friends with a meal out, along with after party. I had a great night, and as it has being along time since a post I felt it my duty to share the happy night with my readers.

Review of the year '10

I really should be writing my English Literature essay now. I'm not. I'm writing about 2010's culture instead.

2010 was a mixed year. We had some lows (University fee's rising) and highs (have you seen the a/w '10 collections!!). There's alot of topics to discuss, and everyone has their own opinion. Here's mine.

Firstly, I need to talk about politics. Everybody has their own view and party's and I respect that. The Natwalk does not usually get political but with such an eventful year in UK politics it feels wrong not to comment. Before the elections, I wasn't a follower of any party, I was slightly leaning towards Labour due to family influence but after the live TV debates I was aboard Nick Clegg's yellow submarine. The policies were good- no University fees for anyone. As meritocratic as a policy could be? Fast forward several months and watching student protests on the news-you'd think Clegg had no such power in this. Wrong-he's the deputy prime minister to David Cameron. All I can say is these aspiring University students are the generation of the future, and so any power-hungry parties who change their policies so drastically can say goodbye to being at the top.

Right, political rant over, lets move onto culture.

In my opinion 2010 has been excellent for music. My particular favourite of the year being that of Contra by Vampire Weekend. It is rare that when I love a band's debut that much, that the second one is even better in my books. But also many bands have surfaced once again-The ting tings, The Wombats, the list goes on. And new talent? I just can't take not having the XX's album anymore so its currently on its way from amazon. Of course winning the Mercury music prize is a huge honor and a sign of a great album-if the Klaxons and Elbow are anything to by. Other highlights include Everything everything, still low-key but a big tip, and of course, my playlist faves, The Drums. Unfortunately though there have been a few 'hits' that I'm not sold on (more sold-out on). Ashamedly I got drawn into Cowell's manufactured factory, otherwise known as The X factor. I did, however download 'surfin bird' by the Trashmen, in an effort to beat Matt (I'm a serious musician because I play a guitar even though I'm on X factor) Cardle to Christmas number one. We failed. But then again that stuff seems to gain the masses. I also hear people gushing about the X factor judges outfits. Dannii wins it for me, she just no matter what she wears she manages to look classy. The same cannot be said for the other female judge. I don't like Cheryl Cole's style. I just don't. Or her over produced music to the point where you can't even hear her singing. I want a genuine interesting personality to stand before me on a stage and entertain. Someone with real talent and creativity. Of course we all wanted Wagner to win just to get to Cowell.

Again, a brilliant year for women in film. Katherine Bigalowe, director of The Hurt Locker and James Cameron, the director of Avatar were the main runners for the Best Direction Oscar. Head to head, not for the first time, being ex-husband and wife and all. Bigalowe won, the first women ever to win a Best Director Oscar. I haven't seen Avatar yet (I know!!) but I have seen The Hurt Locker, and found it to be a beautiful film. War films are not my thing but this really captured the emotional side, it was captivating. Other films that really caught my eye-The Social Network. I found this really interesting, clearly dramatized, yet so intriguing. A long film but I didn't even notice. Toward the end of the year Harry Potter and the deathly hallows part 1 was released. It took me a while to see it actually, I wasn't as excited as I was for the other films. It was good, not my favourite, because I've come up with the theory that I like the whole Hogwarts and school theme, and being the trio's first film without Hogwarts it was quite a change. The film I have seen that has had the most profound impact on me, despite the fact it was made last year was An Education, which I have ordered the book to and is in my list after Pride and Prejudice and Great Expectations.

Now Fashion. What a year. Since I have being following collections a/w 10 is my favourite and will be hard to beat. Louis Vuitton and Prada gave us the ladylike bombshell. She's from the 50's and could have just stepped out of a movie from that era, hourglass figure, dainty, yet grownup styles. Then there's Celine. Grown up, sophisticated minimalistic glamour. The camel coat was on the lust list. And of course, Dolce and Gabbana. A mixture of tux jackets that speak for themselves to the fair isle knits and skii-esque wear, just right for this harsh winter. The High street delivered also with these trends, my favourites including kitten heels from New look and knits from New Look. Fashion was wearable. I particularly loved how Robin Givhan wrote of the season in an Elle UK article. Speaking of Elle, it was a good year, the 25th birthday issue. Such an ambitious issue, yet it worked. The standout for me was the editorial featuring Coco Rocha, The Word Girl. Stunning images, lighting, clothes and of course model. Another editorial that caught my eye was in the June or July issue shot in St. Lucia. Beautiful. I rave on about Elle so much, but I really urge you to buy a copy if you never have. Its full of inspirational writing, images, stories and clothes. Before Elle i could only have dreamt of a magazine so culturally inspiring.

As for me?? Personally it's being a good year. Despite my lack of blogging (Sorry!!). I've started sixth form and have met lots of new, friendly people. I've even managed to hold down my first job!! All in all I've had a great year and hope to have a great 2011 and hope you do to.

I'd love to hear your thoughts whether you agree or disagree. Usually I'm a positive blog so this is my own little ranting post, but I'm sure you will agree the good always outweighs the bad.

Winter Warmers

You know that line, "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go", well it really really is!! Even through November I've heard Christmas songs in department stores, music channels and the radio (and superstitious me, I have to refrain from singing along which is very, very hard!!). As I am writing this now I look out the window and see a blanket of snow and blizzard-esque conditions. If anybody asks me what I'm doing tomorrow, I simply smile, and reply by saying opening the first window on my advent calendar. And that really means Santas on his way, almost as much as the coca cola adverts-"The holidays are coming", another line I shall be singing. Very irritatingly.

I'm wearing a River Island cardigan and boots, New Look jeans and Dorothy Perkins vest top. Oh, it's freezing!!

To be or not to be, that is the question

Ah!! I' am such a bad blogger, and I do apologize-life's been pretty hectic at the moment with school, extra curriculars, not to mention all of my shows (a la Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries) being aired at the moment!! Enough whining, and onto blogging.........it has been a while...........

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to go and see a production of Hamlet at The Crucible in Sheffield starring John Simm (Life on Mars) and Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey). I was extremely impressed, each actor gave their all and there was not a performance out of place. This was the first time I have seen Hamlet, or known the story, but for Shakespeare, I say this after seeing a production of King Lear just the week before and if I wasn't studying it I would have no chance, easy to understand. I read in one of the Sunday papers that "John Simm's Hamlet is boyish". I agreed, and it worked adding a childlike quality to Hamlet after all that had been through. All in all I thought it was a great play and deserved the critical acclaim it received.

So, since I haven't blogged in some considerable time, it's a double dose. I'm a big kid at heart and I love Harry Potter. With the release next week of The Deathly Hallows:Part 1 , it is the penultimate film, and therefore, the penultimate Leicester Square premiere experience for the franchise. All eyes were on golden girl, Emma Watson and French beauty Clemence Poesy.

Both Potter stars went for lace. Clemence looks stunning and classic but for me, I prefer Emma Watson's fresh, young take. Her pixie cut works so well with the whole look aswell, and I do love Clememce's darker hair!! Which look did you prefer??

Music to my ears

Throughout the jungle of chart music you occasionally may find that artist with a certain air about them. Not consumed by their own success, nor believing their hype that inevitably leads to a mediocre attempt as a follow-up. The impossibly cool Katie and Jules of The Ting Tings, are (after being locked in an old, disused jazz club basement in Berlin) finally releasing their second album. I've been fans of The Tings Tings for a while now, ever since my Dad tipped me off that they were the ones to watch. At the time they had just around 18 friends on myspace. The rest, as they say, is history. They are amazing live and also when I spontaneously decided to start a band (that's another story!!) Katie was nice enough to reply to a message I sent her with some advice. Listen to their new song, Hands below. At first I wasn't sure but it's a grower I assure you!!

And on the topic of new albums, I'm sure you've heard of Scottish band Belle and Sebastian. I first fell in love with their music while on a family road trip, listening to the Juno soundtrack on repeat. Well, the band has brought out a new album-just in time for Christmas!! I can't comment to much on it yet as I have not heard it in full but if its as beautiful as my favourite ever song "Piazza, New York Catcher", than I can quite confidently say that it will be stunningly written and gorgeously (if it were ever a word) performed.

I mentioned earlier in the post how my Dad tipped me with The Ting Tings, and must also mention that years ago there was a little-known band named The Killers playing a small tent at Glastonbury. My Dad then told me to watch them-that they would be headlining in enough time. I think you know how this story ends. Well, the latest prediction is a band called Everything Everything. So I checked out the Myspace page and I'm quite liking it. My favourite song I heard was Schoolin', to which there is a link below.

A weeks worth

It occurred to me the other day that I haven't done an outfit post in quite some time, and so before going out I quickly snapped these pictures.

I got this dress at an unbelievable deal for our GCSE drama improvised piece, set in the 1940's, and at the time teamed it with t-bar shoes and a pink cardigan, fitting for the era. Now we are officially in Autumn so I decided it was time to break into the boots and wore it with the dress. I wasn't sure how it would look at first, but with thick black tights, this skirt had just the right hemline to work these boots-not too short or long. I'm wearing a Primark dress and tights, New Look boots, Topshop necklace and bangle and Avon bangle.

This week I also was lucky enough to get the chance to go to Newcastle and watch King Lear for English Literature. And I have to say I loved Newcastle!! It was busy and bustling, even for a Thursday, and was a very cultural trip indeed, even finding myself in various art galleries, staring various artist's work, including a Rolf Harris piece. The architecture of Waterstones was amazing, I spent a good hour perusing round the books-this Christmas list is already starting!!

Finally, (I apologise, this is a very me me me post!!) the past few weekends have been spent at a place called Hemswell Cliff. It's an old air base turned into an antiques centre. Now, I know it doesn't exactly sound like the funnest thing to do and that was my first attitude, but I've really started to enjoy going now. You can find such gems and items with great stories and history-not to mention lots of vintage clothes!! My Parents even got a Victorian table and chairs that look right at home in our cottage-in-the-country-esque decor. And me? I picked up this French wall hanging for a scandalously low £3.

All in all, I've had a great week.

Je ne sais quoi

Firstly, an apology. I seemed to have neglected Fashion Week. The truth is I've been so busy with school, essays and maintaining my first ever job. The only fashion week I have briefly kept track of is Paris (thanks to my flicks through the Guardian during free periods). And to be honest, Paris has got to be one of my favourites. I love the classic, French style. Whenever I look at a Chanel show I imagine myself cycling through La rues of Paris, taking in the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the city, in that dress. I'm a daydreamer, if you haven't already noticed. So on to s/s '11. And speaking of Chanel.....

Tweed and pastles, just the way I like my Spring Chanel to be. I'm happy, also to see that this seasons ladylike look hasn't been left out in the cold, the hemlines were still longer and less skin was revealed. I love clothes like that, so sexy because of the fact your not dressing like Taylor Momsen in those garish suspenders and little much else, and embracing something Jackie O and Audrey Hepburn portrayed called class. Although, I'm not sure I'll be trying those shoes, they may look good on someone who's 5'10" but I think my petitness of 5'2" should stay away to avoid clumpiness!! And finishing the show was a dramatic array of striking blackdresses-look out for Emma Watson and Keira Knightley on the red carpet in these I say. Chanel was brilliant, and so onto the other heavyweights.

This season Louis Vuitton was a pioneer in bringing back the 50's, hourglass silhouettes and clothes that real women could wear. So what was dear Mr Jacobs going to show for s/s '11?? The 20's with a flair of the oriental. Still ultrafeminine, still ultradesirable. Two of my favourite decades, fashion-wise, of the 20th century. Marc, I salute you.

For me, a Mcqueen show isn't just a collection of clothes-it's a work of art. Beautiful patterns, stunning silhouettes, and that edge are all on the list. Black and gold patterns on flowly dresses-cinched in with the coolest belt and boots, punky black minidresses, and frothy ruffles that still manage to look like a rock star's dream. The legacy lives on.

The red carpet fixture Ellie Saab wowed with a colour palette of greens, pale blues, silvers and peaches. Add a flowy dress that would look right at home in St. Tropez, with a gorgeous neckline I might add, a little glitz and glamour or should I say alot, and the perfect ratio between evening suits, minidresses and floor sweeping gowns. This was one heck of a show.

Paris, I praise you.

Dear Vampire Diaries

It took a while, in fact it was started at Manchester airport in July, but I have finally finished it. I know it's a very long time to take to read a 400 or so page book, but this is me, and let me tell you the last time I managed to finish a book was for English Literature. It's not that I don't enjoy reading, believe me its my passion, but whenever I start a book I usually don't finish it, as I usually get busy then don't bother going back to it and re-reading. Lazy I know. I'm ashamed. But starting this new chapter in my life-Sixth form-has inspired me to do what I want. The book in question is The Vampire Diaries, The Return-Nightfall. I skipped straight to the third book as the first two weren't in the shop, but I'm a huge fan of the TV show, so I'm pretty much sussed on characters and who's who.

My thoughts? I loved the narrative, however it was a fairly confusing start, this might be because I haven't read the previous novels but it did take me quite a while to figure out what was happening to Elena (or could that be pre-holiday excitement??). Once I got stuck into the book though, it was really enjoyable with a great narrative and interesting characters. Dark romance and even darker villains overshadow Fells Church, and Damon only finds the excuse of a missing Stefan to get closer to Elena. I won't say too much-I don't want to spoil the plot but I will say the ending isn't quite an ending for me, you'll have to read it to see what I mean but I'll just say you'll want to buy the next book.

Next on my list? Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I've loved the TV and film versions so now it's time to meet the original Darcy. I'll let you know when I've finished it and my thoughts, but I warn you-it may be a while!!

School ties

As I write this I am sat at a vintage 60's cocktail bar, drinking a (non alcoholic of course!!) delightful concoction I made earlier. I'll give you a hint-it involves blending and fruit. It's raining and the sound of rain hitting the glass roof is contending with background music of Beth Rowley, Mel Torne and Juliette Greco. Am I mad? Yes. The maddest part is that I'm actually at home, and each one of the previous mentioned are not what I suspect to be the typical activities of a teenager.

But here comes the inspiration-An Education.

I watched the film over the weekend, and have to say its had quite a big impact on me since, the major lesson in there is to not fall for a 30-something suave guy who drives a very nice car. In the end he will turn out to be married. With children. Forbidden Romance, a seriously recommended soundtrack (bought on Ebay after watching the film!!), and a taste of 60's style and glamour. Oh, and some important lessons learnt along the way, this is a stunningly shot film, with brilliant acting, especially BAFTA winner Carey Mulligan. Also it's a true story, based on journalist Lynne Barber's memoirs, which I might have to give a read of soon! The impression I got from Mulligan was that she loved the grown-up and glamorous life she was living rather than the man himself, although who wouldn't with trips to Paris and lounging around at his friends seemingly impossible dream pad.

What did you think to an Education? Carey Mulliagans on my radar now for definite, it's not often someone that beautiful, talented and stylish graces the red carpet.

I eat, sometimes pray and occasionaly love

I'd like to think I can cook. Infact I'm learning to, both for the nearing adventure that is University, and just to prove that I can. So Wednesday, one of the days I'm lucky enough to have a full afternoon of free periods, is my cooking night, as of last week. Last weeks menu? Salmon with new potatoes and avocado salad accompanied by homemade Italian bread. Yes. I made my own bread!!

Not exactly the best bread I've ever tasted but I was very happy that it was my first time and nothing went wrong!! The salmon was cooked perfect (thanks to guidance from both my cookbook and parents), the potatoes a little overdone, although they did have a nice flavour. Finally, I loved the salad probably because it contained avocado, which since trying it at a Spanish restaurant I have been in love with. So overall, a good success-at least everything was edible!!

And for tonight? Calzones with salad and chocolate muffins for dessert. Will let you know how it goes.

LFW. London fashion week. Any fashion week in that matter.

I love Topshop-gorgeous clothes and (compared to designer prices) affordable ones at that. Do I like change? It depends. Do I like Topshop Unique's new 70's, studio 54-esque look that debuted London Fashion Week. Yes. Simple as that.

With flowy maxi dresses, Bohemian patterns, cross-body bags, big frizzy hair and white flares, if Topshop has their way we'll be kissing goodbye to the current 50's look and saying hello to inspiration from Bianca Jagger. Just imagine poolside in a hippy, flowy caftan, it doesn't get better than this....

What to read, what to read.....

You may have read my last post, where I vowed to be more cultured, and so the culture vulture rally begins. I don't think I'm able to part with my chick lits just yet, so I've decided I shall read one of the more 'typical' choices for me, then an established book, preferably listed in another book, below.

Currently I'm reading The Vampire Diaries third book by L.J Smith. I'm really enjoying it and have nearly finished it (more on this in a future post!!), and thus enters the point of this post. I'm stuck, in regards as to what to read next. The contenders?

a) Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy

I loved the film (Sean Bean version), and I really want to get stuck into this epic, although I'm not sure at the time it's a great choice. It takes me a while to read at the best of times, so maybe it would be better to read this in the holidays, as I'm not tied down with school work or reading other books for English Literature.

b) The Wasp Factory by Ian Banks

Sounds quite disturbing from what my Mum has told me, but apparently a masterpiece so might be worth a read.

c) Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Ahh, I've drooled over on-screen Darcy's for years, so it would be wrong not to read the original....

Will let you know what I choose and when I actually finish the Vampire Diaries. Anyway, got to go, about to attempt to cook some salmon, I've even made my own bread!! Wish me luck, and watch this space.

An Education

This blog is changing. Not it's name, URL, even content. In fact, more of an addition if you like. I recently started sixth form studying maths, biology, sociology and English literature. It's the latter that made me think. And therefore I decided I want, no need to be more cultured. In all honesty, thanks to my parents I am fairly well cultured. I've seen Fellini and Hitchcock films, read Capote books and visited various art galleries. Much to the detriment of my dad though I'd rather read the Gossip Girl series than Tolstoy. I can't change who I am or what I like-no-one can!! But I've had an epiphany (see, that English is coming in good use), I'm growing up. I'll soon be 17, and although no-one wants not to grow up as much as me (not even Peter Pan), but I can't avoid 'grown up' books forever. Don't worry my love of Cecily Von Zeigsar isn't going anywhere, but I think it's about high time to dust off the Bronte collection. Anyway, I'm babbling, let's get to the point. How is my blog changing you say? The outfit posts will still be there, my beauty must-haves, what I'm up to with my friends, general fashion and celebrity posts not going anywhere. But there will be a few introductions, posts about books, food, art, music and film. So, without further ado...........

I am not a cook. My speciality lies with tinned soup and bread and butter. I am extremely fortunate in the fact that both my mum and dad adore cooking, be it Rick Stein or James Martin. My part? (The best bit). I sit and eat, with a smile on my face. I do have a sweet tooth though so a couple of months ago tried my hand at lemon drizzle cake. Disastrous was an understatement. The icing was too runny and went everywhere, the sponge crumbled as I took it out the cake tin, oh and I almost ruined one of my mum's pans. Not exactly inspiring. The other week, I was shocked when included in the weekly shopping was a fairy cake mix (we all have to start somewhere!!). Granted it wasn't the most complex of desserts, I followed the instructions carefully and voila!! Fairy cakes. That were edible. So yesterday I turned my hand to something less simple-chocolate fudge cake. And guess what, not only did it actually resemble a cake but it tasted delicious, if I do say so myself.

Ok, so not a masterpiece but I was proud in my creation. This inspired me to dig out my old beginners cookbook, and try some main meals, seeing as the only one I can cook is pasta. Next on the menu? Salmon, a big step for me!! Will keep you posted.

Just like a new upcoming star has to be likened to an established one, awards shows, (established or not) have to live up to the oscars. The BAFTA's are the British Oscars, and the Emmy's are the Oscars of television. In that case the Oscars of television happened on Sunday 29th August. The awards show is not shown in the UK, but luckily I had Ryan and Guiliana on E! to show me what I wanted to see the most-the dresses!!

This has to be one of my favourite dresses of the night. Birthday girl Lea Michelle wore an Oscar De La Renta, the jewellery just suited the look so well.

Another Glee star, don't they scrub up well?, Diana Agron looked so pretty in Carolina Herrera. The hair is so perfect aswell!

I love this Tina Fey dress, it's so different to the usual red carpet dress. Although the hair is nice, very Eva Longoria, I don't think it suits Tina.

I love this dress Anna Paquin wore, the detail is beautiful. However, the dress definetley needs an updo, I think something more tidy would have looked better.

Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev looked stunning in this dreamy gown. I love the earrings so much.

I've just had my hair coloured aswell, just in time for Sixth form, and speaking of school you've probably heard that in the past two weeks have been A-level and GCSE results day. I just want to say well done to everyone who worked so hard and did great!! Me? I'm so happy with my results, I'm not the bragging type but am so happy to share my results with all my amazing followers. 1 A * 7 A's 3 B's and 1 C!

You'll be hearing a lot from me about this upcoming anniversary next month. It's Elle UKs 25th birthday. Now, you probably know my love of Elle (my favourite magazine) and a good beauty find, so combine the two and its a sure bet that I'm pretty pleased. Six beauty brands have released a limited edition product to celebrate 25 years of Elle. The products?

This set of Bobbi Brown 12 eye shadows has amazing packaging, look at all those covers on the front!! Although this palette will set you back at £175!! Not sure I'll be adding it to my beauty draw, but price-aside it is a lustworthy buy.

So, you've got the eyeshadow from Bobbi Brown. Of course now you need seductive lashes to flatter. £28 from Shu Uemura.

Elle's beauty editor, Georgie Collins created this nail colour ( and the eyelashes above ). It's fabulously chic and sophisticated, although a navy or red shade would have been my preference. The brilliant news?? This won't set you back a fortune, at only £3.95.

Forget make-up, it's nothing without gorgeous, healthy skin. Elle's 6 products had to include a moisturiser, and this Kiehls lotion is one of the best, but the best doesn't come cheap, at £43!!

Top self-tanning brand St Tropez has teamed up with Elle to release the Elle 25 set. The set costs £26 and includes bestseller bronzing mousse ( above ), an application mitt and and the violet illuminator.

In all honesty I don't consider myself to be fashionable. Do I consider myself to be stylish? Well, I can't really answer that one. You see, to me the difference between fashionable and stylish is this:

Fashionable-Always being on trend, ahead of the trend. Basically a worshipper of all things current.
Stylish-Someone who can put a fabulous outfit together to suit them and their personality regardless of season or price tag.

I don't really follow trends, well I follow them so to speak, but I buy what I like and what suits me. This is changing. The wave down the runway of classic, 50's-esque, feminine looks has got me going for the trend. And, I have to say A/W 2010 is definetly oneof my favourite seasons since I have being following fashion. Some may disagree. That the Celine minimalism is too boring. That knee-length skirts are too conservative. But for me the modesty of this season is wonderful. With all due respect, even those who do not admire the look can agree that change is good. Yes, Balmania is bluddey brilliant, but if we had season after season even the front row girls would be unamused.

Camping cool

Ah, British weather. Always the unpredictable and wet. A camping trip up to the Yorkshire Dales proved this to me after losing my head in the clouds with the Greek sun. Experiencing sun, rain, wind and just about everything in-between (although not snow thankfully!!). Regardless, I had a great time. Sometimes basic and natural is the best way to go, even when the campsite and surrounding hamlets do not have a phone signal. We stayed in a Dale called Swaledale, which we have regulary stayed at before, and the views were stunning. It's places like that that make you proud to be a Yorkshire lass!!

Also, I have found the most amazing pub in the world. Tan Hill Inn is reached after a a long climb in the hills and has the title of Britian's highest pub. The atmosphere is amazing, what I call 'oldy-worldy'. The weather and wind is harsh outside, but inside it's home to roaring fires and folk music (once when I was in a little Radiohead was added to the mix.

There's something I love about buying jewellery away from home. I think it's the unique aspect that no-one else will have it back home. On this holiday I got a vintage-inspired bracelet.

While the words basic and no electricity were what was suitable for the trip, one thing I had to bring was my iPod. Here's my camping playlist:

I have to admit I was shocked to see that one of my style (and hair) icons Emma Watson had cut her locks off. But then I looked again, and it is growing on me. I like it.

The pixie cut frames Emma's stunning face, really showcasing her features. Although I'm not quite so daring and won't be following Emma on this trend. What do you think to Emma's short cut?

Another image that shocked me (in a good way, of course) was the cover of Harpers Bazzar this month.

Jennifer Anniston channeled her icon Barbara Streisand, and I have to say it was refreshing to see something different. A alternate look to the 'golden girl' cover were used to seeing Annistion on. What other fashion icon would you like to see trying a different look or style?

Everyone is different with their beauty routines, but when on holiday I like to keep it natural and simple, yet glam and pretty. Some of you are aware that I recently got back from a holiday in Greece, and because summer is in full swing I'm sharing the beauty buys that helped me more than you can imagine!!

Haircare

John Freida Frizz Ease Serum-I found this stuff amazing, it calms frizz and brings out curls aswell so I could wear my hair natural with no heat damage.
Aussie 3-minute miracle reconstructor conditioner- This has got to be the best conditioner, infact I use Aussie shampoo and conditioner all year round.
Avon shine spray-Gives a subtle yet gorgeous shine to hair. Perfect on holiday as the sun enhances natural highlights and this just makes it look even healthier.
Tresemme extra hold shampoo-I try not to use a lot, just a very light covering to keep my hair in place but still have it bouncy.

Skincare

Either Avon/Hawiian Tropic sun lotion SPF 15-Sun Cream is the most important thing for your holiday. It protects from the sun and stops your skin burning and peeling, so don't forget to reapply regulary.
Avon after sun moisturiser-Moisturising rehydrates skin, stops peeling and this special formula prolongs your tan.
Garnier Ambre Solaire Tan Maintainer- Ok, so I'll admit I didn't start using this till I got back but it's still a great product for on your holiday or after. It is a moisturiser smoothing your skin with vitamin E, and it also helps to prolong and deepen your tan with a hint of self tan.
Boots facial foaming wash- Applying this onto skin feels so soft, and holiday or not you must cleanse.

Make-up

Clinique high impact mascara-This makes lashes so long, great for night time. During the day I applied just one layer for a natural look and applied Rimmel waterproof mascara over the top.
Boots Lipsyl-Keeps lips moisturied and healthy. Also it contains an SPF.
Benefit Brow zings wax-In the sun my hair goes really light, and this means eyebrow hair aswell. This gives colour and definition as part of a pretty look is in the brows.
Benefit Miss Popularity Highlighting powder- Sometimes sleeping in a different bed to my own I don't get the best nights sleep. Putting this on lightly just under the eyebrows brightens eyes and makes them look more awake.

Fragrance

Avon Tahitan body mist- You would have to go a long way to beat this scent. It's tropical and coconuty.
Harajuku Lovers G-Me and my mum have been fans of this scent since we first got a smell in Debanhams. A great duty free purchase.

Mamma Mia!

I have a bizzare ritual when I leave a place in which I've lived in for more than 10 days. I actually think I belong there, rather than my hometown in England. But can you blame me? The coldest day when I was in the Greek Island of Skiathos was around 35 C, and I arrive home to, well, grey skies. I am a dreamer, I'll admit.

So, from this slighty confusing first paragraph you can probably gage that my long absence from the Natwalk has something to do with my trip to Skiathos. And you'd be right. I had a great fortnight in the small, yet beautiful island of Skiathos (part of Mamma Mia was filmed here, which explains the Blog title). Here are some of my highlights of two weeks in Paradise.

This is a beach called Lalaria. You can only get there by boat and the sea is so blue, it's gorgeous!! Although, I have to admit the tide was a little choppy.

These were all taken in the capital of Skiathos town. The streets were bustling and lively and the atmosphere was amazing!!

I'm not one to follow the crowds but I have to admit Twilight is one of my many guilty pleasures (ashamedly the Jo bros are as well!!). Aside from the broody vampires and often, thankfully, shirtless werewolves, you may have noticed a few leading ladies knocking around as well. I think we all know THE leading lady, Kristen Stewart.

Kristen has a dark edginess in her style and has been looking quite glam lately with floor-length gowns and a new found love of Pucci minidresses. At the New Moon premiere Kristen wowed in this fairytale frock, all eyes are on what she'll be wearing at the upcoming Eclipse premiere?

She may not be in the arms of Edward or Jacob, but another rising young star's style choices have been catching my eye lately. Anna Kendricks fresh, youthful yet at the same time girly and classic style has been emerging. So will Anna sport a loud minidress or a feminine gown to the Eclipse premiere?

On screen she's part of the Cullen family, but in real life she's showcasing her confident, sassy style. She, of course is Ashley Greene. Favouring fun dresses and heels is her speciality but Ashley looked stunning and elegant at last years premiere in a bold red gown. So what will she wear to the Eclipse premiere?

CFDA 2010

It doesn't seem a month from the last CFDA awards, but some of the most fashionable stars luckily make a mark on their calenders!! Led by Anna (Wintour, of course) designers and actors alike donned their glam rags for the 2010 Council of Fashion design in America awards.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Alexander Mcqueen. The print and colour are gorgeous, Mcqueen seems to be Parker's lucky designer, especially after the Sex and the City to premire.

I love Alexa's style, and the dress although it is a little long for me, however it's good to see more classy fashion. I would have teamed it with a pair of very high-heeled brogues.

The Lord and Lady of cool, David Bowie and Iman wowed with Bowie's smart casual suit and Iman's gorgeous figure-hugging gown.

Jessica Biel looked stunning in this bright dress, with her glossy locks and the hottest accesorie, man of the night, Marc Jacobs.

Michelle Tranchtenburg wore this dazzling navy blue evening gown.

Also last night I watched parts of the MTV movie awards. Of course more important to me than Twilight's clean sweep of awards (at least give best male performance to Taylor Lautner!!) was the costumes. I had two standout favourites of the night.

On Friday night I was lucky enough to witness the performer known as Lady Gaga. And boy, did she perform!! She was onstage for over 2 hours in a spectacular including scantily-clad dancers, a piano on fire, dance routines and a giant sea monster (yes, really).

I wore a Miso at Republic top and lace vest, New Look jeans and shoes, Dorothy Perkins necklace, River Island earrings and Jon Richard ring.

On Friday it was the big day. Prom night, the teenage girls equivalent of a wedding. I had the most amazing time ever and everyone looked so gorgeous and glamourous!!

The Hair was inspired by part Sienna Miller at the Met Gala and part Bridgett Bardot. Thnaks to everyobody for such a wonderful night-I'm still recovering!!

Last night me and my friends went to the races, then to an X factor outdoor concert following. Ashamedly, as it was short notice and my mind lately being preoccupied with Prom and exams, a last minute was rush was in order but luckily I managed to find a little hidden gem in my wardrobe.

I'm (the blonde one) wearing a minkbikini dress, new look belt and Dorothy Perkins (courtesy of the Mum) beads.

Honestly, we look like a girlband with the different hair colours!! Anyway had a great weekend, hope you did too!!

Cannes Festival

If I could be anywhere in the world right now, it would be the South of France. I can't think of anything more glamourous than the affluent coast, especially while the Cannes film festival is on. I've never been to Cannes but have heard it has a great old Hollywood vibe, and looking at Cannes glamour in black and white pictures in the 50's I can see!!

And today the glamour is no less....

Usually I'm not a big fan of the whole head-to-toe black (it reminds me of my uniform) but I really love Amanda Seyfried's look at the Tribecca film festival. I think the embellishments on the jacket are what really pulls it off, just goes to show what difference a little detail can make. Also love the hair and the smoky eyes-just the right amount of drama in that department. Normally a simple outfit like this would demand a little more in the hair, but suprisingly the bun gives Amanda a new mature, sophisticated look. What do you think of the look or is it too simple?

If your like me and you either love the most sophisticated, womanizing spy ever or Austen-era novels turned movies and television, chances are you'll know who Gemma Arteton is. And if you don't you soon will!! The British actress has starred in numerous films already but a blockbuster hit this year may just turn her into A-list status.

I'm not one for video games myself but I'm well aware that Prince of Persia:The sands of time is going to be a big hit this Summer (have you seen Jake Gyllenhals abs!!). Also look out for Gemma starring alongside the dishy Ed Westwick (bad-boy turned good-boy and now bad-boy again, Chuck on Gossip Girl) in Wuthering heights. I can't wait to see it, as I am a big fan of the Cathy Heathcliffe romance, and with Ed Westwick thrown into the mix what a film that will be.

A little of that note I just want to pay my respects to the late Malcom Mclaren. It's a while since the tradgedy, but I have just found out involvement in punk music. Manager of The Sex Pistols and Bow wow wow, Mclaren was also married to Vivienne Westwood. With that much talent to manage I think British music has got alot to thank Malcom Mclaren for.

With all this vampire hype, I don't know about 'Let the right one in', more like Let no-one in for me!! Last night I did watch said Swedish. Sure it was arty and a great film bit too be honest it was a little too gritty for me. Realistic, yes. Pretty much what would happen if a vampire turned up in an apartment block but call me optimistic I do think films and shows should be glamourised a great deal. Gritty and harsh are just reality and don't we want to escape this by watching a film. In all honesty it was slightly disturbing if you ask me, yes critically acclaimed but for me it was one of those films you only watch once. Give me The Vampire Diaries or Bram Stoker's Dracula anyday!!

And movies and entertainment how excited are you about Sex and the City 2? When it is released I will be leaving the girls behind on this movie trip as I think Carrie and co. call for some Mother and Daughter time.

I have been drooling over these BEAUTIFUL courts from Faith for about a month now and I'm proud to say I am now the owner of said courts.

The only downside, I've got to wait till May to wear them officialy for my prom, but for shoes this nice I don't mind waiting!!

And wow. Did Lady Gaga take it to another level or what? I'm sure you've already seen the Telephone video (15 million hits in 3 days!!), but just for show it's here: (BTW it includes everything from mass murder, prison, girl on girl action, Lady Gaga's sister and of course Beyonce. Did I mention it is 10 minutes long?).

There's no business like show business

I'm sure you were aware, last week it was the most important night of the year for many actors/actresses/directors/producers, you get the picture. Every year we get blown away by stunning gowns and shocked by some not-so stunning ones too. I know this post is coming a little late, I may seem off ball, but in reality I was up till past 1 on a Sunday night tweeted your way through the red carpet. But believe me, the next day at school it didn't seem so clever.
But anyway, off point back on to the Academy Awards.

Zoe Salanda wore this daring Givenchy Haute Couture dress. To be honest I'm undecided with this one. I love how she is daring with her choice but I can admire the dress in it's art form but personally, I don't think it works.

I love this simple but dreamy Ellie Saab look on Rachel Mccadams and her hair swept back really shows of the dress and her features.

How stunning is this Oscar de la Renta on Cameron Diaz? I love the colour, cut, detail...........well, love it all really and those gorgeous side swept blonde curls really compliment it.

The red hue really suits Penelope and minimal jewels really show off the dress and its true potential.

I am such a typical girly girl and love the whole romantic look. Diane Kruger was one of my favourite, yet I thought her Chanel beauty was very underated. Diane got it right but however Charlize's just didn't do it for me, I think the roses round her boobs may have put me off slightly, but the train was nice, maybe a different shade and roses somewhere else would have looked a little better.

-Metallic/Futuristic

As seen on-Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Lopez and Amanda Seyfried.

Wow! Check out Miss Bullock there looking all sultry in a sexy figure-hugging Marchesa. The dress-a little different from a lot of the big flowing gowns, was a great choice-sexy without going OTT and revealing too much. Jennifer Lopez chose this furturistic Armarni Prive, not so different from Amanda Seyfried's. The shape was daring, but simplicty in the colour of the dress is needed for this much drama.

-Dramatic black gowns

As seen on-Carey Mulligan, Kristen Stewart

Usually I pay attention to Rachel Zoe's red carpet rule and tend to avoid black party dresses (although a girl needs a few a la Holly Golightly) but I really loved the detail on Carey Mulligan's Prada. The cut, a little shorter at the bottom at the front, although a very slight difference gives the dress a bit more effect and those shoes are divine!! However, Kristen Stewart's Monique Lhuiller was nice but a bit too simple and boring. At least she smiled!!

And of course, we see the old bold colours trend on the Oscars red carpet.

It was a good show at the Oscars this year and I'm so happy Katherine Bigalow won. I haven't seen Avatar yet but I always love the indie gem to win.

Ice Queen

Sorry for my long absence I was very busy, in all honesty been a teenager.

It is some time since the Winter Olympics in Vancouver had its closing ceremony, 5 days to be exact, but whenever a huge spoting event comes up, I always feel the need to try and excel at said sport. For instance the sights of Wimbeldon makes me pull out my raquet for a few months (but I'll hopefully keep it up this summer!!). And while my skiing talents are non-existant, I'm yet to try the sport, I am quite partical to a bit of ice skating. I may not be at Olympic standards (or any for that matter), I mean the last time I went was around Halloween, but nether the less I dug out my hockey skates and hit the rink.

Not quite up to refined figure skates. I wonder how long this fad will last.

For once, this is a very fitness based post, as now I am sharing my new best friend with you. Hoping to tone up for upcoming holiday/prom and just summer in general I found this app for my iPod and found it can also link to the internet. You can track your weight loss, set daily targets, enter the food and excersise you have consumed or taken part in in that day. According to it I'm set to lose 6.5 pounds by April 10th, only time will tell. This is all at My Fitness Pal.

Best of the British

It seems so much has been going on this week, what with the winter Olympics, fashion week and various awards shows happening. To be quite honest it's quite difficult to keep up with it all!! But I do try my best.

The two main award shows this week were held in London, The BRITS honoring music and The BAFTAs honoring film.

Firstly, The BRITs. Lady GaGa was outrageous as ever (and don't we love her for it) and not revealing any flesh at all in this tiered dress, that was all until her outfit change later into something that wasn't quite as conservative, conservitave for Lady GaGa. Then there was blonde bombshell Pixie Lott in this lace creation which she co-designed. I love the style and the flare of the skirt, but I have to admit it was a little too short for me, although if I had Pixie's legs I would want to show them off. Lily Allen (minus orange wig) wore this daring creation. I admire her for it, it isn't exactly functional and is different without been too OTT. Loving the 20's bob too. Now on to opera darling Katherine Jenkins, the lady with a stunning voice and looks to match chose this unique design, which personally I adore. This really suits Katherine, although I would have gone for a different choice of footwear something less high with the loud dress, but thats just me. Kylie always looks great and the 2010 BRITs were no difference in this gorgeous floor-length lace dress. Minimal jewellery works well with this dramatic dress, and I really want to copy those effortlessy chic waves. Lastly, I'm not too sure how I feel about Florence Welch's dress. Although it was a great design, I would have prefered this in a different cut-maybe a bit longer and more accesories for the wow effect.

Last night the BAFTAs were held, the forerunner and quite often predictor of the Oscars. Everybody was talking about Best Actress winner Cary Mulligan's monochrome floral gown. I loved it!! It was comtempary in design and hue, yet quite traditional due to the florals. The perfect dress for Cary's perfect night. What a showstopper!! Moving onto French beauty Audrey Tatou-not in Chanel!-but in Lanvin in this dramatic number. The pink hue was perfect for Audrey and clashing the dress with red shoes and a clutch was even more daring, this could have gone so wrong but luckily for Audrey and best dressed lists it paid off. Vera Farmiga wore this bridal-inspired Marchesa dress. The label is a sure hit on the red carpet, managing to produce whimisical, fairytale gowns everytime, and they especially don't fail here on this one-shoulder beauty. One thing I wish Kristen Stewart did is smile. Ok, I know its cold and this Chanel dress, however nice, isn't to help keep warm but seriously walking the red carpet at the BAFTAs in CHANEL!! I think that deserves a smile from the vampy lady. Classy lady Kate Winslet wore this simple but chic dress to great effect. This dress is proof its all in the detail-just the little touch of leopard print can make an amazing impression.

Bye bye Bryant park, Hello Somerset house

On Thursday the fashion crowd fared farewell to Bryant Park for the last time when Tommy Hilfiger had the honors of staging the last show of Bryant Park. New York fashion week was amazing for me this time round, but now its over its time to focus on the upcoming, namely London fashion week.

Topshop Unique certainly had fun playing around with animal hats and antlers, but despite the frizzy hair (at last, they understand the effects of winter!!) and make-up that was well, different cosy knits and oversize warmers were the main stars of the show, you'll be toasty next winter if Topshop have their way!!

Favourite Alexa Chung, as stylish as ever (when isn't she fabulous).

And eccentric designer Vivienne Westwood at her own party.

New York Fashion Week Vol. 2

Firstly, this is my 101st post! Usually I would be celebrating the 100th post but since silly me didn't realise that it was the 100th post. Anyway, enough babble I just want to say thankyou to all my followers and readers!!

Now, on to the important stuff, namely New York Fashion Week. And there's a lot to get through.

Zac Posen showed lady like chic at first with outfits like this. Yellow and mustard were prominent in Posen's first showings. Later on the fushias came out, making for a visually appearing show.

Supermodel Coco Rocha wowed us with the standout piece of Posen's Autumn/Winter '10 line.

And how could I talk of New York fashion week without the king of cool, Marc Jacobs?

His signature grunge cool was as evident and stylish as ever, in both womens and mens wear.

I was also very impressed by Vera Wang's line.She managed to mix monochrome with ladylike chic and a slight rock edge.

Now thats how to do rock chick meets classy lady.

Two of my favourite lines now of New York Fashion Week, Autumn/Winter '10, the first being Diane Von Furtsenberg.

There was a lot of variety in Furtsenberg's line from this LBD with a difference to gorgeous patterns on sexy minidresses.

But the showstopper was this stunning black gown.

And last, but of cousre not least, far from it, is Oscar de la Renta's collection.

He also followed the classic look shown on many runways, but the cherry on top of the icing was the hue of this dazzler.

It wouldn't be a De La Renta without dreamy dresses to finish the show off and this season was no exception.

I think every fashion blogger is living for the moment they get an invite through the door to fashion week. I know I am. But to be honest, the closest I am now is searching through the pictures on the Elle website.

I loved Rag and Bones' approach to warm dressing. I quite often find myself wondering how I can stay warm AND stylish and I love the layering effect (although I don't think I could pull it off to full effect like this model). In my opinion Rag and Bone were certainly equiped for the snowy weather in New York, and the on/off snow where I am.

Another fave was Jason Wu (as always).

I love these dreamy dresses, especially the second. I feel it has a fairytale element to it-and I am a sucker for that!!

This classy look is also a winner for me, I think that coat would go just perfect in my winter wardrobe.

However, I was a little underwhelmed by the BCBG Max Azria show. Don't get me wrong, I adore the line usually but this Autumn/Winter '10 collection just didn't wow me. Feel free to disagree, I'd love to hear other opinions on all the collections shown.

It's that time of the year. Shops are flooded with heart shaped boxes of chocolates and red roses. But for us singletons, it's a bit of a different story. Think Bridget Jones and Ben and Jerrys. This year though I pledge it will be different, as me and my friends are going to celebrate been single and free with the three C's-chocolate, champagne and (if I get my way) Chuck of Gossip Girl. Sixteen candles

The scene before me today is a little different to the scene of Saturday night. Right now I am in bed with a mug of lemsip. Saturday I was with my closest friends having a good time and celebrating being sixteen.

As you can tell I had a great night. I was stuck between two outfits so I decided to wear them both. The first was from Warehouse, paired with a hot pink feather boa and gloves (it was a old Hollywood glamour theme) and the second (which you can just see on the last photo was a purple sequin and silk one from Leeds boutique, Vicky Martin. Even the early stages of flu/cold didn't spoil my night!

Golden girls

How I do love a star that carries their own umbrella on the carpet. It was the Golden Globes 2 nights ago, and despite the dismul weather the stars turned out showing full glamour and glitz-and some did not.

In this tight, fishtail, Altier Versace gown, Penelope Cruz was dressed up to the erm, well nines.

Another show stopper was Anna Paquin in this gorgeous dazzler of a dress by Stella Mccartney.

Wow. That was the words I uttered when I first layed my eyes on Lea Michele in this Oscar de la Renta beauty.

Slighty underwhelmed by Julia Roberts' ensemble I thought she could have done better. A simple knee-length black dress and courts and the only eye-catching element to her oufit-the necklace is perfect for some semi-formal occasions but the Golden Globes isn't one. Sorry Julia!!

At least Tina Fey made an effort in this Zac Posen dress. For me, it's the shoes. The pink and bows give a far too girl effect which doesn't suit the length of this dress at all. Again sorry Tina!!

Sweet Sixteen

Firstly, an apology. It seems I have been neglecting my blogging duties of late, but that is the past and this is now, especially since I am now wiser and maturer (well, not really). The truth be told, today is noone other than my 16th birthday. It's a quiet night tonight-me, my mum, dad and dog joined my a KFC, but am I to pass up the excuse for a get together with a theme, I think not. Tomorrow will be spent partying with more family, it is also-Happy Birthday Gran!!-my Grans birthday aswell, so were having a joint party. Saturday me and one of my best friends Ashleigh are going shopping to Leeds, in stores such as Harvey Nichols and dining at a fancy restraunt before she stays at mine and reflects on our amazing day. But the biggie is next week, an 'old Hollywood Glamour' themed party, meaning all things Marylin and Audrey. I'm so excited for the week that is ahead!!

It seems a while since I last did an outfit post and I owe it to Meraldia to show off my best buys in the sales.

I got this leather jacket half price at New Look for £20. I've only had one chance to wear it though with the weather, but I'm sure when spring comes around I'm sure you'll see this a lot!Also these boots from the same shop were down from £40 to £25. I also picked up something else-a very special dress which you may get a glimpse of around April/June time-watch this space!! I'm also wearing a French Connection top and again (yes, I do have a problem) New Look jeans.

Anyway I'm off to eat cake and subject my parents to numerous episodes of Gossip Girl-it is my 16th Birthday after all.

Florence and the machine

With her vibrant red locks and powerful voice, Florence wowed us all this year with her debut. She picked up a critics choice award at the BRITS before releasing her album! Her standout song for me this year was Kiss with a Fist, although who doesn't love her cover of You've got the love?

Kesha

Kesha has stormed the charts the back end of this year with her dance hit, Tik Tok. With memorable lyrics, such as 'Wake-up in the morning feeling like P-diddy' and 'The party don't start till I walk in'. she had us repeating her catchy song, when not listening to it. Her unique style and voice are enough to keep us coming back for more.

Lady GaGa

How could I not include Lady Gaga? The lady of pop music this year has brought music-whether you love her or hate her-to to our ears. From her debut 'The Fame' including UK number 1 songs, Just dance and Pokerface to her brand new single, Bad Romance and deluxe double album, The Fame Monster. With her creative outifts and pop beats, it was the year of Gaga.

Pixie Lott

18 year old Pixie has had a good year. Her debut, Mama Do (Uh Oh) went to the UK number one and she scored a consecutive number one with Boys and Girls. I love Pixie's style, and she is giving teenage pop a new face.

Passion Pit

These five chaps have made quite a name for thereselves this year. Their indie-synth-pop has recognised them against the likes of Hot Chip. I was lucky enough to go and see these guys live in October and they really know how to put a show on.

The Virgins

New York indie band The Virgins have come a far way since having a Gossip Girl episode scored by their EP. After underground hit, One week of danger these lads have released their debut album, alongside with single Rich Girls.

30h!3

Named after their California zip code, 30h!3 released Don't trust me, a catchy electro-pop as their debut. Now, after picking up showbiz friends, like Kesha, they have released their second single with Katy Perry, Starstruck.

Dizzee Rascal

A wave of new urban talent hit the UK charts this year but it was one man who remained reigning King of the charts. Dizzee Rascal had the song of the summer this year with Holiday, featuring Chrome. But we can't forget the catchy Bonkers, it seems Dizzee and Armand Van Helden were a perefect match.

Mumford and Sons

Bringing folk to the mainstream, these British lads wowed with debut single Little Lion Man. The song, which combined a catchy chorus with thoughtful lyrics was one of my favourites this year. Their second single, Winter Winds is also a success.

Michael Jackson

The King of pop sadly passed this year, but his music lives on. His back catalog is impressive enough but this year This is it, a film of Jackson's tour rehearsal footage and single This is it was released.

2009 was and interesting year for fashion-both positive and negative. Here are my top ten most stylish stars of the year.

Frieda Pinto

Indian actress, Frieda was sprung into the spotlight this year with Danny Boyle's beautiful film Slumdog Millionaire. Stunning and stylish, Frieda has wowed us on the red carpet in gorgeous gowns and was a very prominent figure at Fashion Week. Part of this years hottest couple, she is now a spokeswoman for L'oreal cosmetics.

Diane Kruger

Beautiful and blonde, the German actress has been seen wearing many outfits, all of them stylish, this year. From her role in Inglorious Basterds to her numerous red carpet apperances, 2009 was definetley Diane's year.

Emma Watson

Emma has had a full style reinvention in the past few years, fully coming into effect this year. The Harry Potter actress has moved away from her Hermione Granger counterpart and become a style icon. Chosen by Christopher Bailey as the new face of Burberry, she has aquired a taste for designers creations, both classy and unique which earned her magazine covers such a Teen Vogue and Elle UK. Also the actress has proved she is smart, attending an Ivy League US college.

Taylor Momsen

Another star whos made quite a transformation this year is Taylor Momsen. Like her Gossip Girl character, Jenny, Taylor has moved from pretty princess to rock chick. A career change was in store for Taylor this year, as she formed her band, The Pretty Reckless, but still stuck with Gossip Girl-thank goodness!! At times Taylor's outfits can get quite raunchy for her 16 years, but at the same time I admire Taylor for being individual and not scared to brake from the crowd.

Emma Roberts

Despite being accosiated with tween Unfabulous and her Aunt, Julia Robert's fame, it's been a good year of fashion for Emma. With many projects for next year, Emma is looking prospectful. From Lady in red at the Met gala to her 50's Hollywood shoot for Teen Vogue, this 18 year actress is making a name for herself.

Michelle Obama

The First lady, Michelle has been making the fashion headlines this year ever since her husband, Barack became president of the USA. Her classic style, beautiful smile and charming personality are what makes her one of the most loved women of 2009. Spotted in everyone from Jason Wu to Gap she has become the first lady of style. And who can forget that stunning dress from the Inguration ball?

Rihanna

The Barbados beauty has become a Style Icon this year for many people. With her new edgier, fashion forward wardrobe, unique hairstyle and hit album shehas wowed at many fashion week shows. I love her new style and attitude, as do many people.

Taylor Lautner

Gaining 30lb of muscle for New Moon has really made a name for Taylor. Stealing the hearts of girls everywhere, Taylor always looked hot this year (whether in clothes or not). Spotted in countless Calvin Klein suits, Taylor was a dapper young man in 2009, which is why he's on the list.

Alexa Chung

The British presenter has come far this year. From her own MTV show in the US, It's on with Alexa Chung to her evolving style, she's had a good year. Alexa was a big hit at Fashion Week, spotted on the front rows of several shows. (Although, to be honest I'd like to see her gain a few pounds)

Lily Allen

The songstress has made quite a comeback this year with a popular new album and stylish look. She's become the poster girl for Chanel and performed at the Paris Fashion Week show. With all this, looks like Lily will have an even greater 2010.
